Home & Community Based Services in Yuma

Every day, UCPSA develops customized care plans for both children and adults by providing the very best home-based support services in Yuma. Services offered include personal care, hygiene, light housekeeping, cooking, and other household chores related to the care of consumers.

UCPSA also offers respite to parents and guardians of individuals with disabilities in order to give them time off from their regular caregiving responsibilities. Behavioral services, behavioral training, and various habilitation services, such as independent living, are also offered.

UCPSA won the Yuma’s Best Award for Special Needs Services for two years in a row.
UCPSA also provides community services and employment services for its members.
Up to 70% of the individuals served by UCPSA have a diagnosis other than cerebral palsy.

Attendant Care

Attendant Care is personalized, non-medical assistance provided to individuals with disabilities or the elderly who require support to perform daily living activities such as personal care, meal preparation, and light housekeeping. This care aims to promote independence and improve individuals' quality of life, allowing them to live safely and comfortably in their homes or communities.

Habilitation

Habilitation is a range of services designed to assist individuals with disabilities in acquiring, retaining, and improving the self-help, socialization, and adaptive skills necessary to live in their communities as independently as possible. These services are tailored to each person's needs and goals and are provided in the person’s home or community setting.

Respite Care

Respite Care & Foster Care Respite provides short-term relief for primary caregivers, offering a temporary break from the demanding caregiving routine.

Housekeeping

Housekeeping is provided to individuals or family members who are unable to complete light housekeeping/chores on their own.

In-Home Caregiving Program in Yuma

At-Home Private Care – Private pay in-home care involves individuals or their families directly financing home care services, separate from Medicaid, Medicare, or other public health insurance programs. Private Care can encompass a wide range of home care services, including personal care, housekeeping, companionship, meal preparation, transportation, and pet care.

Individually Designed Living Arrangements Services in Yuma

Individually Designed Living Arrangements (IDLAs) provide opportunities for adults with developmental disabilities, regardless of degree of disability, to live in homes that they own or lease with support available as often and for as long as it is needed. These individuals live alone or with a roommate and need extra support to maintain an independent life.

UCPSA usually provides Habilitation services and/or Attendant Care supports for individuals living in IDLAs.

WorkAbility Program in Yuma

Workability is an individualized and supportive employment program that teaches and prepares people with disabilities for competitive, integrated, sustainable work opportunities.

Become a Paid Provider for Your Child

Parents in Arizona who qualify can receive pay as Direct Care Workers for their own children’s Habilitation and Attendant Care.

The program was established to accommodate families during the pandemic who might not wish to have outsiders coming into their home for health reasons, especially if their child has high-risk factors such as asthma, serious heart conditions, or compromised immune systems, or who were having difficulty finding willing workers.
