We are thrilled to announce a vibrant community art project that will breathe life into the currently uninspired hallways of UCPSA! This project, led by famous Tucson artist Carolyn King, goes beyond art to bring our community closer with creative teamwork. Carolyn brings over two decades of experience as a teaching artist, dedicating her talents to community-based collaborative projects. It's a privilege to have her lead this exciting endeavor. Please help us make our walls beautiful!
Project Vision: Imagine our long, first-floor hallway transformed into a vivid canvas of colors, places, and stories. We're inviting UCPSA staff, members, parents & guardians to collaborate with Carolyn and create a collection of visual art installations.
Who Can Join? Everyone! This project celebrates all levels of artistry and welcomes every member of our community. Whether you're a Picasso or someone who's never held a paintbrush, there's a space for you to contribute, learn, and grow.
Where & When? UCPSA Community Room. Every Thursday from 10:00 to 3:00 pm. You are welcome to drop in at any time during these hours and stay for as long or as short a duration as you prefer. There's no
obligation to attend every Thursday; feel free to visit once or plan multiple Thursday visits at your convenience.
Cost? FREE to YOU! Thanks to Carolyn's generosity in donating many of the materials and our ongoing efforts to secure grants, we can offer this experience to participants at no cost. This initiative is about inclusivity, joy, and the transformative power of art.
Why You Should Join: This project isn't about decorating walls but making them speak. Speak of our stories, our dreams, and our UCPSA triumphs. This is a chance to leave your mark, learn something new, and participate in a collective effort to beautify our space.
Please call Rhonda Murray at 520-344-8203 for more information on how to participate.
