We're thrilled to share some exciting news with you all. United Cerebral Palsy of Southern Arizona (UCPSA) is acquiring Southern Arizona Family Services (SAFS), a Home and Community-Based Service organization. This acquisition is a significant step forward for both organizations, and we wanted to share the details with you.
Why SAFS?
UCPSA chose to acquire SAFS because we believe in their unwavering commitment to the individuals they serve and the dedicated staff it employs. SAFS recognized that our culture of caring aligns perfectly with their mission, ensuring that their people will thrive under the umbrella of our nonprofit organization rather than being absorbed by an out-of-state conglomerate corporate entity.
Advocacy and Impact:
The acquisition allows UCPSA to amplify its voice in advocacy, championing the rights of individuals with disabilities. By uniting our efforts, we create a larger, more diverse workforce, gaining more resources as a larger organization. Expanding our reach allows us to provide even more diverse and tailored support to our communities in Yuma, Tucson, and the broader Southern Arizona region.
Our Mission:
At the national level, UCPSA advocates for changes to public policy and raises awareness of common issues faced by individuals with disabilities, including access, resources, support, and respect. At UCPSA, we have always prioritized serving those in need, regardless of diagnosis. This acquisition is a natural extension of our mission to provide the highest level of care to those with the most severe and multiple disabilities.
Our Commitment:
We have always strived to be the best possible employer for over 1000 dedicated staff members, and acquiring Southern Arizona Family Services aligns with our mission and values. We are confident that UCPSA will be the best steward for the individuals and families SAFS currently serves.
What's Next?
We're working closely to integrate the staff and members served by both organizations, ensuring a seamless transition. The official acquisition date is set for January 1, 2024. We're excited to continue the essential work that SAFS does, and we want to express that everyone has a home at UCPSA.
Thank you for your dedication and commitment to our important mission. Together, we will make an even greater impact on the lives of those we serve.
