Dear UCPSA Community,
We want to take a moment to share some important information regarding ongoing discussions about funding for disability services in Arizona. As many of you know, the Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD) is facing a severe budget shortfall, and without immediate legislative action, funding for all services could run out by May 2025. While we are confident that services will be funded through the rest of the fiscal year, we also recognize the importance of staying informed and supporting the families we serve.
We don’t want to cause undue concern, but we do believe that awareness and advocacy is important. These discussions impact not only the individuals and families we serve but also the broader disability community, including our dedicated employees. As an organization, we are closely monitoring developments and will continue to share resources to help families navigate this evolving situation.
The following Call to Action by Raising Voices Coalition provides an overview of the issues and provides sample templates you can use to write to Arizona state leaders.

Now is the time to make your voice heard. The decisions being made in the coming weeks will shape the future of disability services in Arizona, and your advocacy can make a real difference. By reaching out to state leaders, sharing your experiences, and raising awareness, we can help ensure that individuals with disabilities continue to receive the essential care they need. Whether you are a family member, caregiver, or advocate, your perspective matters. Together, we can work toward a solution that protects these vital services for those who depend on them. We encourage you to review the Call to Action toolkit and take action in whatever way feels right for you. UCPSA will continue to provide updates and resources as we navigate this important moment—thank you for being a part of this effort.
