Tucson, AZ -May 3, 2022 - Cathey's Sewing & Vacuum presents Christmas in July, and is a new format that features a completely customized two-day Kimberbell’s Winter Wonderland class with educator Carly Cathey-Timpf to benefit UCPSA.
Starting July 7-9, 2022, students will enjoy hands-on learning by stitching through projects with classmates in a fun team-sewing environment. On Saturday, July 9th, it’s the traditional customer and staff challenge showcase. This challenge is to make wheelchair and walker bags that will be donated to individuals served by United Cerebral Palsy of Southern Arizona. Challenge categories include, “Best use of UCPSA Logo Colors”, “Best use of Embroidery” and “Most Creative” with cash prizes awarded. Customers are encouraged to bring in their finished bags on July 9th for voting. Winners will be announced at the event. There is also a grand prize for who can make the most bags for the “Above and Beyond Award”. There will also be a rare summer- an appearance from Santa Claus. The event cost ranges from $39-$119 depending on the package reserved and includes supplies, lunch, and snacks.
