Employment Incentives

United Cerebral Palsy of Southern Arizona (UCPSA) is a premier provider of in-home services to people with all types of disabilities and offers support to their families. Direct Care Workers and Habilitation Providers (DCWs) are often the connection between our consumers and their independence. Because of the special role DCWs play, consumers are able to live in their own home or with their families rather than in a nursing facility or group setting. The services provided by DCWs allow consumers to maintain their independence. The DCWs carry out the mission of UCPSA for our consumers and their families and play a vital role in the success of the agency.

United Cerebral Palsy of Southern Arizona is proud to offer competitive salaries and employee incentives to employees.

Competitive wages:

  • Direct Care Workers start at $10.00 per hour.

Full time employee benefits:

  • Health Insurance: Employees who want health insurance can obtain it by paying a monthly portion of the premium.
  • Accrued PTO.
  • UCPSA does not contribute to the premium for group dental insurance, but it does make two types of group dental insurance available to its employees.

Part-time employee benefits:

  • UCPSA does not contribute to the premium for group dental insurance, but it does make two types of group dental insurance available to its employees.

Spotlight Award:

  • Program managers choose several Direct Care Workers per month to be recognized with a Spotlight Award. Each chosen DSW receives a $25.00 gift card to recognize his/her outstanding contribution.

Employee of the Month:

  • UCPSA program managers select one Direct Care Worker whose work or effort has excelled for the month. That employee’s certificate is displayed in the reception area for the month and the employee receives a $50.00 bonus.

Travel Time and Mileage Compensation:

  • Employees are automatically paid minimum wage for travel time for shifts with different consumers scheduled less than one hour apart. Employees are paid mileage at the current UCPSA rate for transporting or running errands for a consumer. However, transporting and driving for a consumer must always be pre-approved.

Direct Care Worker Trainings:

  • In September of 2013, the State of Arizona mandated that people who perform direct care services must be certified. UCPSA has a number of DCW trainers who are qualified to administer both the written and skills testing requirements for all levels of the examination. UCPSA offers this training free of charge to qualified applicants.
